SENSORY ART & ACTIVE LEARNING

WE WORK WITH A RANGE OF PARTNER ORGANISATIONS FACILITATING CREATIVE EXPERIENCES THAT PROMOTE SENSORY THINKING.

SENSORIAL is an art organisation that promotes Sensory Art & Active Learning.

We believe that sense stimulus can work as a positive trigger and be a key element, making communication possible, especially when working with people with disabilities.

The aim of our group is to facilitate a renewed appreciation of Sensory Potentialities in Art, through creative experiences that result in a reflective process for those involved.

Through our work as art tutors and practitioners, we have gathered many experiences where sense stimulus was the element that opens up people, allowing them to engage with their environment in a more expanded way.

Autumn 2021

Eight in-person sessions involving young people constructing, composing, attaching sensory objects to a mesh panel. Each session was focus on one colour: yellow, blue, red, green, violet, pink, and orange. The artists leading the activity brought materials of each relevant colour, as well as using some from Stoneside community that gathered coloured objects of interest in anticipation. For example, on week 1: yellow mesh, we worked with yellow tonal objects with a range of sensory qualities, gathered and made during the course of the session.
